About herbs vitamins and minerals

It’s important to understand that herbs, vitamins and minerals, although effective in their own right, exhibit a broad spectrum of bioactivities and are not single pathway/target mechanisms. Herbs, vitamins and minerals are natural bioactives that work in concert with your body towards better health and well being.

The primary bio-actives included in Ohh.. black seed oil and elderberry gummies formula are backed by science and have been clinically researched in numerous published scientific journals and articles.

BTQ2™ BLACK SEED OIL

Our BTQ2™ Black Seed oil bioactive is 3rd party lab tested and is guaranteed to contain over 3.3% Thymoquinone

Thymoquinone is a phytochemical compound, it is the most active and abundant antioxidant constituent present in black seed. Research shows that it has promising pharmacological properties against several diseases. It exhibits amazing antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, anticancer , and other major biological activities. Basically, it scavenges free radicals and prevents the cell damage resulting from oxidative substances.

Ohh.. partners with farmers who employ sustainable, responsible and organic farming methods in Bale Valley, Ethiopia and Tokat Province, Turkey. The seeds are collected, cleaned, manually cold-pressed and third party tested for purity and Thymoquinone content. Studies show that Nigella sativa has been native to these regions for thousands of years. In Turkey, evidence of black seed cultivation dates back to the ancient Hittite empire in 1650 BC. Our Ethiopian black seed oil is pressed from seeds harvested from farms in the Bale Valley in Ethiopia. Here the soil is known to be superior and nutrient rich due to traditional crop rotation practices and the proximity of Ethiopia to the equator.

Black seed (Nigella sativa L) is indeed a wondrous herb and has over 6000 scientific and clinical research studies published in major health and research journals. Click on the illnesses below to check out the scientific research regarding it below.

Elderberry

Organic Elderberry extract is taken from premium elderberry fruit. It It is the second bioactive in our gummy formula. We chose elderberry (Sambucus nigra) because according to hundreds of clinical studies the berries are naturally rich in phyto-protein, vitamin C and a wide range of important flavonoids, including quercetin and anthocyanins, which are believed to account for the therapeutic effects. However, elderberries also contain a variety of nutrients ranging from various vitamins (A, B1, B2, B6, B9, rich amounts of vitamin C and E), trace elements such as Cu, Zn, Fe; minerals such as K, Ca and Mg; and phytochemicals such as carotenoids, phytosterols and polyphenols. [1,2]
Elderberries are also well known for reducing inflammation and oxidative stress. [3]

Published studies show that elderberry also reduces liver inflammation and improves HDL function and atherosclerotic plaque stability. Read more about the amazing benefits of elderberry in a published scientific journal here.

Vitamin D2

Ohh.. gummies use plant based vitamin D (ergocalciferol-D2). Vitamin D yeast is a natural fat-soluble vitamin that helps your body absorb calcium and phosphorus and, by extension, bone growth. Clearly it’s important to make sure that you are getting enough vitamin D, either through sun exposure or from somewhere else in your diet. Having the right amount of vitamin D, calcium, and phosphorus is important for building and keeping strong bones. It not only contains Vitamin D2, but also contains an abundance of protein, minerals, vitamins and other essential nutrients. Vitamin D is also one of the most important immune system-strengthening nutrients that may reduce the risk of colds and flu. Read about the importance of Vitamin D2 here.

Zinc

Ohh.. included Zinc in our proprietary formula because scientific and clinical research shows that zinc benefits the body in many ways — it helps with hormone production, proper growth and repair, improves immunity and promotes normal digestion. Zinc is an essential mineral, meaning that it’s necessary for health, but the human body is unable to synthesize it! Zinc is needed for several bodily processes including immune function, certain gene expression, DNA repair, and more. Zinc works to support the body’s natural defense system which aids immune system function, wound healing and the absorption of B vitamins. Zinc has antioxidant properties to help protect cells in the body from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals may contribute to the aging process, as well as the development of a number of health problems, including cardiovascular disease and cancer. Antioxidants can neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent some of the damage they cause. Zinc also supports the digestion and metabolism of important vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and other essential nutrients. Read about the importance of zinc in your body here.
